Timberland reduces GHG emissions 36 percent

from Environmental Leader

The Timberland Company has reduced its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 36 percent in 2009 over its 2006 baseline from Timberland owned and operated facilities and employee air travel, according to the company’s quarterly CSR report. The footwear manufacturer says it’s on track to reach its goal of a 50 percent emissions reduction by the end of 2010. The company attributes the emissions reduction to increased energy efficiency at its retail locations, use of renewable energy at its distribution facilities and decreased employee air travel. more
