Guardsmen, senators rip Air Force C-130 plan
from Military Times
Guardsmen and lawmakers are up in arms over an Air Force plan to cut 21 C-130 Hercules aircraft from the Air National Guard's inventory in fiscal 2011. The Air Force's budget calls for 12 C-130s to be transferred from several Guard units around the country to active duty at Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas. Six aircraft from the Puerto Rico Air Guard and seven from the Arkansas Air Guard would be retired, while four C-130s would be added to the Guard's stock.
