Aircraft keeps watch on oil disaster

It was just after 3:30 a.m. when the nimble, six-person aircraft lifted off the runway and banked to the left over the black waters of the Gulf of Mexico 3,500 feet below. Inside the cramped plane no wider than a minivan, it was nearly pitch-black, save for the glow of blinking controls, but the darkness wouldn't matter.
