Gates, Pelosi split on Afghan pullout pace
In a pair of interviews airing on ABC's "This Week," Defense Secretary Robert Gates and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi D-Calif. took decidedly different tacks about the speed with which U.S. troops should pull out of Afghanistan when the scheduled withdrawal gets underway next summer. "Well, first of all, I think that - my personal opinion is that - that drawdowns early on will be of fairly limited numbers. And as we are successful, we'll probably accelerate. But, again, it's - it will depend on the conditions on the ground," Gates said.
