Occupant satisfaction and workspace design: What matters most

from Research Design Connections

Drawing on the vast database of the Center for the Built Environment at UC Berkeley, a team of researchers combed through 10 years of data collected from 52,980 people working in 351 office buildings to determine which office features have the greatest impact on occupant satisfaction. The most important parameters were satisfaction with amount of space, noise and visual privacy. Satisfaction with amount of space was not noticeably affected by size of workspace, and improved by having a private office and sitting close to a window. more
