Oklahoma Guard warns of fake death notifications
from Military Times
The Oklahoma Army National Guard is warning the families of military personnel of a hoax involving fake death notifications in the Oklahoma City area. Lt. Col. Max Moss says the wife of a Navy serviceman was approached by two people wearing camouflage uniforms and claiming to be Army Casualty Notification Officers who told her that her husband had been killed. Moss says the woman was asked to sign paperwork — but refused and called Tinker Air Force Base for help.
