Georgia Secretary of State touts electronic voting for military personnel
from Rockdale Citizen
Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp promoted his office's efforts to provide electronic voting to military personnel overseas. During a speech, Kemp spoke highly of Georgia's ability next year to provide absentee ballots to all service men and women overseas as part of the federal Military Overseas Voting Empowering Act that was passed by Congress in 2009. Georgia was one of the first states to implement the MOVE act, by allowing service men and women to receive an absentee ballot via email 45 days before and election. This system allowed for Georgia military personnel to fill out the ballot and mail it back in on time to be counted.
