Nebraska plant to make bio-resins for plastics

A Northeast Nebraska start-up company expects to break ground this spring on a commercial-scale plant that turns ag-based material into resins for the plastics industry. Last year, Laurel BioComposite LLC started making small batches of "Bio-Res" pellets from distillers grain, an ethanol byproduct. Laurel BioComposite said its pellets, which can be inserted directly into injection molders, are particularly suited for such end products as shipping pallets, automotive parts, components in ag machinery, and lawn and garden containers. more
