California groomer licensing bill amended

from PIJAC

Amendments to legislation that would establish a licensing mandate for pet groomers in California have been put forward. Among the changes are establishment of a Pet Grooming Council which would be charged with overseeing administration of the new law. A licensing process headed up by the Veterinary Medical Board in the introduced version of the bill would be replaced with a certificate program to be run by the new Pet Grooming Council. Numerous other amendments would tailor the law to a certification for groomers rather than the original licensing standards. more
