San Diego construction company restores historic building for the homeless

from The San Diego Union-Tribune

Like a big birthday gift, the 12-story building at Sixth Avenue and A Street in downtown San Diego is wrapped up tight, waiting for the big day at year's end when it becomes Connections Housing, a one-stop shop for the homeless. Turner Construction Co. is spending $24 million to restore the 119,000-square-foot building to its original look and prepare it for its next life as a one-stop-shop home for the homeless. more
