Make your 2013 IAEM Award entry compelling and competitive

from IAEM

What gets the attention of the IAEM Award Judges? You can find out by reading the April 2013 IAEM Bulletin article called "Lessons from the IAEM Ministry of Recognition," written by Cullen Case, CEM, IAEM awards judge, and Rocky Lopes, IAEM Awards & Recognition Committee chair. "IAEM Awards Judges have the best job of all members in all IAEM committees," wrote the authors. "We get to see the details of what all of you are doing to innovate and move our profession forward. We have noticed some recurring themes that we thought we could tell you about to help you submit an entry that is compelling and competitive." The authors discuss five ways to improve your award entry: learn what makes a high-quality entry; show the judges how your project is above-and-beyond the ordinary; find out why you should seek a third-party review before submitting your entry; describe how your program can be replicated in other communities; and ensure that your entry is complete, including support material. Award guidelines and official entry forms are posted on the IAEM website. Entries must be submitted via email to Karen Thompson at Thompson@iaem.com no later than May 31, 2013, 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time. more
