The 2013 School Transportation Conference "Shaping Sustainable School Transportation: Policy, Attitude, Action" was held in United Arab Emirates, Dubai on April 21-23.

The event was the first of its kind in the UAE, stemming from a partnership between RTA and NAPT supporting world class student transportation in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Specific goals of the event included: sharing of international best practices, defining a safe environment for the transportation of students and promulgating awareness among stakeholders, the use of new technology to promote operational safety and efficiency, and updating standards and specifications for special needs transportation.

Over 1,200 people attended the 3-day event, which featured a trade show with 35 exhibitors from around the world and 27 speakers from 11 countries. The conference was co-hosted by NAPT and RTA (Roads and Transport Authority). We'd like to express our gratitude to vendors and presenters for attending this inaugural event.
