Railroad, city pursue removal of emergency crossing
from Placer Herald
The city of Rocklin, Calif., and Union Pacific Railroad are negotiating to close an emergency vehicle access (EVA) rail crossing at Lemon Hill Drive, meant only for first responders in case of an emergency. Supporters hope removing the existing EVA will stop train horns through the development, while opponents fear it could affect public safety.
