EPA clean diesel grant opportunity

from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

EPA is planning to distribute $9 million via its National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program. EPA is soliciting proposals nationwide for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions, particularly from fleets operating in areas designated by the Administrator as poor air quality areas.

There are a variety of projects that may be eligible for a grant, including the installation of Verified Exhaust Control Technologies; Verified/Certified Cleaner Fuel Use and/or Verified Idle Reduction Technologies if integrated with a new eligible verified exhaust control technology funded under this grant; Verified/Certified Engine Upgrades and/or Certified Engine Repowers; and the incremental cost of a newer, cleaner vehicle powered by a 2011 model year or newer certified highway heavy-duty diesel engine, up to 25 percent of the cost of an eligible replacement vehicle or piece of equipment. Grant proposals are due to the EPA by June 25. Additional and more detailed information is available at more
