At the end of 2011, Starbucks opened a new drive-thru and walk-up-only store in the Seattle area made almost entirely of four reused shipping containers. What was then an experiment is turning into a significant company roll out. The 450-square-foot store built to LEED certification standards, opened first in Tukwila, Wash., and the modular structure is serving as model for Starbucks new modern modular drive-thru platform, the company announced on its website. more
