Ontario's minimum wage panel set to visit Ottawa

from Ottawa Citizen

The panel tasked with finding a better way for setting increases to Ontario's minimum wage will bring its public consultation tour to Ottawa. On one hand are unions and anti-poverty groups who want the provincial government to address poverty by hiking the minimum wage to $14 per hour. On the other are employers, particularly those in agriculture, tourism and hospitality, and retail — the three industries together employ 60 to 70 per cent of minimum wage workers in Ontario. more
