Answering objections to solar power
from The Record
We know we need to take better care of our environment and solar power seems like a step in the right direction. But some people aren't so sure. Consider a few objections raised against solar power and how these can be answered. Solar cells are a form of hazardous e-waste. There are different types of solar photovoltaic cells, and some contain elements that may be hazardous. This is true of just about every consumer electronic device, including flat screen TVs, computers, and cell phones. The solution is to manage the waste. Recycling systems exist to recover these elements so they can be safely disposed of or used again in other products.
