PAMA hopes everyone had a happy AMT Day 2014

National Aircraft Maintenance Technician Day was established in 2008 as a day set aside to recognize the efforts of aviation maintenance professionals as well as the achievements of Charles Edward Taylor, the man who built and maintained the engine that powered the Wright Flyer.

The Congressional Resolution reads, in part: "Resolved, That the House of Representatives-- (1) supports National Aviation Maintenance Technician Day to honor the professional men and women who ensure the safety and security of our airborne aviation infrastructure; and (2) recognizes the life and memory of Charles Edward Taylor, the aviation maintenance technician who built and maintained the engine that was used to power the Wright brothers' first controlled flying machine on December 17, 1903."

The date May 24 was selected and also recognizes the birth date of Taylor. So, Happy Birthday Charlie! More at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Taylor_(mechanic).

The end of May generally marks the end of PAMA Chapter monthly dinner meetings for the winter/spring season and on to many summer golf and BBQ events.

Be sure to check with you local PAMA Chapter to see what is planned. Come out and enjoy a nice round of golf and take in one of the many BBQ and social events that will be taking place. more
