What to Expect in Your Next Offer Letter

Searching for a new job can be an exhausting process, and oftentimes the only light at the end of the tunnel is being able to land an offer at the end. While you may be inclined to sign on the dotted line right away — and the employer is likely pushing you to do so — it is important to take a step back and review the offer as a whole before committing. As the industry has evolved, so have the compensation packages. Here is what is trending in the HR world and what to look for in your next offer letter.

Base pay is the first aspect of a job offer that you’re drawn to, and when your receive it, that number should make you excited. Unless internal equity prevents an increase, hiring managers strive to beat a candidate’s current base by at least 5 percent.
