Thousands still using ERs for dental problems

More than 11,000 Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, residents annually take toothaches and other dental maladies to hospital emergency rooms – an expensive last resort for people who can’t afford, or can’t get to, the dentist office. A new study said Medicaid ends up paying millions of dollars for people seeking emergency help for broken teeth, cavities, gum disease or abscesses left untreated too long.
