NM studies economic impact of hunting, fishing

The New Mexico Game and Fish Department says the state's hunters and anglers spend more than $613 million on their recreational activities. The department also says they contribute another $51 million to the state's economy in labor, income and taxes. The dollar figures are highlighted in a study commissioned by the department to determine the amount of participation and subsequent economic impacts hunters and anglers have on the state and on individual counties. more
