Message from the NFAIS Executive Director:

Marcie Granahan,
NFAIS Executive Director
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you in just a matter of days at the NFAIS 2015 Annual Conference, where we’ll take an in-depth look at the evolving user experience and the future of information delivery. This year’s speakers include Kalev Leetaru, a leading Internet entrepreneur and academic; Tim Collins, President & CEO of EBSCO Industries; Micah Altman, Director of Research and Head/Scientist at the MIT Libraries; Michael R. Nelson, Public Policy, CloudFlare, Inc. and Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University; and many more. If you haven’t registered, you’ll have to act quickly. Online registration closes tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 13).

In our last issue of NFAIS Advances, we explored Open Access and two great articles on international trends and creative approaches for open-access journals. In today’s issue, we include an article covering new ideas around data sharing, including proposed policies and incentives to help foster more sharing of quality data among researchers. I’ve launched a post on this topic in the NFAIS Advances Community Forum – I invite you to join in and share your thoughts with your peers and colleagues.

We hope you enjoy this week’s issue of NFAIS Advances! Please feel free to share this liberally with your colleagues and friends. We also welcome your feedback on ways we can make this service most helpful to you.

Marcie Granahan
Executive Director
