Canada-India contract strengthens nuclear ties
from World Nuclear News
A long-term uranium supply contract signed by Cameco and India's Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has been welcomed by the two countries' prime ministers as they look to further cooperation and collaboration between their nations. The contract was signed in the presence of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the first official visit by an Indian prime minister to Canada in 42 years. It is Cameco's first contract with India, and was made possible by a nuclear cooperation agreement between the two countries that came into force in September 2013.
