More on NAPT's new Strategic Plan

from NAPT

As reported last week, the NAPT Board of Directors has been working with the NAPT staff since early May to update the Association's strategic plan. The Board has developed three over-arching goals that will guide our work for the next three years.

The first goal is to: Identify the needs of school transportation professionals and ensure that the association model meets their needs. We will do that by identifying and communicating with every school transportation director and supervisor in America, seeking their feedback and opinions on a variety of topics. Then we will make NAPT relevant and accessible to everyone in pupil transportation by modifying and improving existing services and programs, adding new ones when desirable and eliminating those that no longer have significant value.

Part of that process includes the creation of an infrastructure that will include new opportunities for people to get involved in NAPT. Similarly, the Board is going to be more communicative – making personal contact with NAPT members, listening to your ideas and learning about your needs. Our regional directors will also hold regular "town hall" meetings and visit our state association partners in person whenever possible. These and other key performance indicators will be integrated into a Board Report Card, which will be posted online so NAPT members will be able to visit the NAPT website and track our progress in these efforts.

Stay tuned next week for our second Strategic Plan goal. If you have any questions regarding this exciting initiative, please don't hesitate to contact your Region Director or NAPT headquarters at 800.989.6278. more
