Crews making final push to demolish 850 vacant Saginaw, Michigan homes

Just two months into an ambitious program launched in 2013 to demolish nearly 900 vacant homes in Saginaw, Michigan, County Treasurer Tim Novak said he was seeing "pockets of hope" created by the project. Now, nearly two years later, a deadline looms to complete the work as part of an $11 million project funded through a "Hardest Hit" grant. Grant money to do the demolition is only available until Dec. 31, and crews are working to complete work before then. more
