BUSINESS 101: Three Website Essentials

What three elements are absolutely essential for a website to be effective? According to Gabriel Shaoolian, CEO of digital agency Blue Fountain Media: State your message concisely. "A lot of e-commerce sites are selling something, but you don't know what's different about them." He cited Zappos' website as one that does it right by using three words that define company values: "Fast, free shipping." Present a call to action via a homepage that encourages client representatives to take immediate steps. Combining the first two elements, then, your website might say something like, "No firm is more responsive to our clients' needs. Try us. Ask a question." Of course, during regular business hours, you'd have to respond immediately after the question comes in. And as for applying element three, integrate social media, put "share" buttons on content-rich pages, so users can share something on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc. more
