Do you know the difference between cardiac arrest and a heart attack? More to the point, do your employees know the difference? Having that knowledge can mean life or death should a heart-related medical emergency arise in your office, in the field, or even when your employees are out and about, entertaining client representatives. Do your employees know the signs of a heart attack? Do they realize its symptoms can be nausea, anxiousness, unusual fatigue, shortness of breath, or back pain? Do they know what to do if they realize a person is having a heart attack or related emergency? It would be great if they were trained in CPR and had an automated external defibrillator (AED) readily available. But the most important thing they could do first is easier, yet often neglected: Call 911! What have you done to instruct employees to do that? more
