Risk for skin cancer may 'significantly' lower following year of vitamin B-derived treatment

Those at high risk for skin cancer may have a new treatment in nicotinamide, a form of the vitamin B3. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine suggested the vitamin B derivative reduced the chance of common, non-melanoma skin cancer in certain high-risk patients. The study incorporated 386 high-risk patients, or patients who had at least two non-melanoma skin cancers in the last five years. more
