Meat producers urge consumers to read fine print on WHO report

Red meat was classified in Group 2a, substances that are “probably carcinogenic based on limited evidence that the consumption of red meat causes cancer in humans and strong mechanistic evidence supporting a carcinogenic effect.” Even though the WHO said the increased risk is small and dependent on the consumption level, the report does not specify how much red meat and processed meat is considered safe. more
