New K-12 law adds to buzz as Legislatures set to convene

For more than a decade, state legislators say they've stood on the sidelines while their education departments followed the federal government's blueprint in rolling out demanding accountability systems. So legislators let out a collective sigh of relief when President Barack Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act last month.
