Fast-responding energy storage digs into frequency regulation market
from Renewable Energy World
As the fastest-growing generation in California, the exponential rise of solar will greatly increase the need for energy storage in the future. Currently, the two renewables that are intermittent solar and wind together represent 15 per cent of the California grid, which is now 25 per cent renewable. But as we go forward into 30 per cent by 2020 and on up to 50 per cent, PV is expected to greatly increase its grid percentage relative to other renewables.
