A 'wheelie' innovative idea helping nurses spot pressure ulcers

A new wheel is giving nurses at Grimsby's hospital a helping hand in identifying pressure ulcers. Tissue viability nurses at the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, who run Grimsby's Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital, have devised a pressure ulcer grading wheel to help staff identify the correct grade of ulcer. All NHS Trusts have to report the number pressure ulcers acquired in hospital on a scale of grade one (superficial) to grade four (deep). more
