LGBT travel a big hit at ITB Berlin

from IGLTA

For the seventh year, the IGLTA Gay & Lesbian Travel Pavilion was the hub of LGBT travel business at ITB Berlin. Sixteen businesses were featured in the 500-square-meter pavilion. The week began with a successful IGLTA/ETOA/PATA networking reception on 8 March attended by more than 120 members from all three associations. On 9 March, the Spartacus reception held the daytime slot, while exhibitors continued networking at the TomOnTour reception that evening, which was hosted by Visit Florida and other Florida destination partners, including Visit St Petersburg, host city for the 2017 IGLTA Annual Global Convention. On 10 March, H. E. Gustavo Santos, Tourism Minister of Argentina, and Rika Jean-François, CSR Commissioner, Gay & Lesbian Travel Segment, ITB Berlin (and Board Member of both IGLTA and the IGLTA Foundation), signed a strategic partnership agreement, aiming to jointly promote and develop the LGBT travel segment. Closing out the week's LGBT festivities was the annual IGLTA/Axel Hotel party, which raised US$1,400 for the IGLTA Foundation. more
