Hanover discusses summer school transportation funding

from The Times

A discussion of summer school policies this year has led to speculation about whether the Hanover Community School Corp. might ever reach out to community groups for extra funding. Curriculum Director Mary Tracy-MacAulay reviewed both Hanover High School's summer reading policy and plans for the district's summer school during a recent meeting. Money for summer school transportation is always iffy, and it looks like this year there will be no money available to get students back and forth from school, she said. The cost of transportation per student is roughly $70 per day. With no money for summer bus routes, students will have to find their own way to school. more
