High Intensity Interval Training is on the rise across the country, reaching third on the American College of Sports Medicine's Top 10 Fitness Trends of 2016. University students and faculty have been utilizing and researching HIIT even before this burst in popularity.

According to the ACSM, HIIT is meant to work the body as hard as possible through bursts of high-intensity activity separated by rest periods of light to moderate activity, resulting in workouts generally less than 30 minutes. more
