Surgery at teaching hospitals more risky for patients due to lengthier operations, study concludes

Ontarians who went under the knife in teaching hospitals spent, on average, 22 per cent more time on the table than those getting comparable surgery elsewhere, the extra time creating risks for patients and strain for budgets, a London researcher has found.
