Length of Homeless Hospital Stays More Costly Than Frequency

from Boston Herald

Homeless patients with debilitating physical ailments caused by years of living on the streets are accumulating hospital stays longer than that of the average patient — a problem far more costly than the population's frequent emergency department visits, according to new data. "A person who has been homeless for a long period of time looks about 20 years older than they are.
