The Senate Education Committee voted unanimously to pass AB 2150

from The Child Care Law Center team

It now goes to the Senate Appropriations Committee. Your support letters and advocacy to protect child care for low-income working families are making a big impact. AB 2150 guarantees twelve-months of continuous child care assistance, allows a graduated phase-out for families who earn between 70 percent and 85 percent of the State Median Income, and eliminates the five-day-reporting requirement for changes in family status. Each factor has contributed to a phenomenon known as "churn," where eligible children are enrolled and disenrolled from child care assistance. AB 2150 will end the churning that causes financial instability for families and educational instability for children. For a list of the latest analysis and fact sheet, click here. more
