IAEM Think Tank scheduled for Sept. 7 on 'Countering Violent Extremism: What Emergency Managers Need to Know'

from IAEM

The IAEM Think Tank begins a new season with a panel discussion on “Countering Violent Extremism: What Emergency Managers Need to Know,” scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, 1:00-2:30 p.m. EDT. With the acts of violence and terror that have been occurring all over the world, we in the emergency management community must learn about Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). Extremists can come from a variety of areas, from domestic and homegrown terrorists to international terror groups. IAEM has teamed up with The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to discuss countering violent extremism and the role of emergency management. The Think Tank panel, facilitated by Rich Serino, will include Brette Steele, acting deputy director of the CVE Task Force, and other speakers to be named soon. Details and registration are online. more
