Emergency services called to horror screening at TIFF

The cannibalism saga Raw didn't sit well with some TIFF-goers. A midnight screening of the French-Belgian movie about a vegetarian veterinary student who develops an uncontrollable hunger for human flesh was so graphic that some audience members reportedly passed out during the screening, prompting emergency medical crews to arrive on the scene. "An ambulance had to be called to the scene as the film became too much for a couple patrons," the film's spokesperson Ryan Werner told the Hollywood Reporter, adding that he had witnessed only Lars von Trier's infamous Antichrist draw such a physical reaction. more
