Recent findings on potentially preventable deaths may provide state officials with a better understanding of how to improve U.S. health goals and priorities, and also shine a spotlight on an unfavorable trend for fatal unintentional injuries, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported. Published in the CDC's "Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report," an analysis of national data from 2014 found a significant decrease in the number of potentially preventable deaths among three of the five leading causes of death, compared with rates from 2010. more
