NSPS elections!

from NSPS

The election of the NSPS President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director-at-Large will begin on December 1 and end on December 21, 2016. It will again be conducted electronically. Members will use an email message they receive from the electronic voting service to access information about candidates, and then vote.

NSPS members for whom NSPS has no email address will receive the ballot via the postal service at the address currently contained in the NSPS member database.

If you do not receive a ballot via email please contact Trish (trisha.milburn@nsps.us.com) for your voter ID and link to vote.

Also on the ballot is a proposed Bylaws amendment regarding the terms of office for NSPS officers. Specifically, the amendment would, in future elections, result in a four-year commitment as an officer, beginning as Vice President and ending after a term as Immediate Past President. The result would be that once elected Vice President, one would automatically accede through the offices of President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President.

Due to unforeseen circumstances related to health, one of the original four (4) candidates for Vice President in this election is not able to continue to compete for that office. Accordingly, there will now be only three (3) Vice Presidential candidates. The electronic ballot will not only include biographical information for all candidates, but will also include for the Vice Presidential candidates their respective responses to three specific questions posed to them. Prior to the election, information about the candidates can be viewed on the NSPS website.

Note that the candidates running for President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director-at-Large are running unopposed; however, members are allowed to vote for "write-in" candidates. more
