Public transportation program for Baltimore City students scaled back

from WBFF-TV

Parents of Baltimore City School students are having a lot more trouble getting kids to and from after school activities. For the last several years kids have been able to use an S Pass that allows them to use city buses until 8:00 p.m. In a cost-saving move, MTA has scaled back the pass to 6:00 p.m., even though many programs still go until nearly 8:00 p.m. Dozens of teens spend up to eight hours each week learning how to design, write and produce media content at Wide Angle Youth Media. The program's executive director, Susan Malone, says, "What we are trying to do is make sure young people have enriching opportunities when out of school." more
