Medicare 'hold harmless' bill falls short

from NARFE

Legislation to prevent a disproportionately large increase in the 2017 Medicare Part B premiums for those not held harmless failed to receive further congressional action. H.R. 6428, introduced by Rep. Dina Titus, D-NV, would have limited the Medicare Part B premium increase to $4 for those not held harmless and not subject to higher premiums due to higher incomes.

Thank you to all of those who wrote letters, called their legislators and advocated for H.R. 6428. Your voices, combined with NARFE’s efforts on Capitol Hill, were integral to getting this legislation introduced. NARFE will continue to fight in the next Congress for a permanent fix to the unfair situation created by the hold harmless provision. more
