Jacob Groshek, assistant professor of emerging media studies at Boston University, has written about how online discussion can distort facts and disrupt science communication, including a recent essay in The Conversation. Specifically, tracking how information about antimicrobial resistance spreads online, he and colleagues found that people who post about science online most often are likely to be the most misinformed. more
