Report: Data should be used to drive improvement in schools, not punish failure

"Education has not yet fully become an evidence-based sector." So declared Aimee Rogstad Guidera, the founder, president and CEO of the Data Quality Campaign, in the introduction to a report that examined how the use of data has evolved in K-12 over the last 10 years. The DQC is a national nonprofit created to support the use of "high-quality, accessible data in education." Its work focuses on increasing public understanding of the value of education data, improving the capacity of educators to use data and promoting wise policies at the local, state and federal levels regarding student data. more
