Washington looks for answers for transportation

from Washington Times Herald

After years of running its transportation system through private contractors, the Washington Community Schools are moving closer to taking over most routes. The school system is making several changes this spring, in preparation for changes coming this fall. The school system is trying to put together a facility to use as a bus barn. The ideal facility will include an interior area for repairs and service, and parking for the buses outside. "We don't have a location yet," said Washington School Superintendent Dr. Dan Roach. "I anticipate we will have a resolution at next months board meeting that will allow the board to proceed with an inquiry into a location. It will be necessary to get two appraisals before we can extend an offer." more
