Two new studies show similar rates of major adverse cardiac events in patients with intermediate-severity lesions one year after percutaneous coronary intervention whether guided by fractional flow reserve (FFR) or adenosine-free instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) index. In the first study, DEFINE-FLAIR, the composite primary end point of all-cause death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, or unplanned revascularization occurred in 6.8 percent of iFR patients and 7.8 percent of FFR patients. more
