Hamilton school board set for $108.5 million construction spree

from Hamilton News

Hamilton's public school board is going on a $108.5 million building spree in the coming year as it follows through on a renewal strategy to help compensate for school closures. A capital budget presented to trustees earmarks $50 million to start construction on six new schools, including high schools at Scott Park in the lower city and on the south Mountain. Treasurer Stacey Zucker said the spending on the new schools is less than half of their overall bill of about $125 million and reflects staff's best estimates of how far the projects will progress by the end of next June. more
