New sensor aims to prevent diabetic foot ulcers

from Diabetes Health

Those with diabetes must be incredibly cautious of any cut, blister, or other abrasion on their feet. These wounds often heal very slowly and can become a diabetic ulcer. If not treated, these ulcers can lead to amputation or life-threatening infections. MR3 Health has recently started trials on a new foot sensor that assists patients in monitoring their feet and preventing these ulcers. The device connects to an app on the user's smartphone. The app guides the user on where to place the sensor, which measures the temperature of different parts of the user’s feet. This information is uploaded to the app and to the patient's healthcare team. more
